    I assumed I would be able to simply photograph my stamps and get a fast read on the perforations. It does work with photographing, provided you get the QR symbol from the developer web site which I missed on the first go-around. The app developer was most kind and stayed with me through success. To get the accuracy I desired it is essential to scan the stamps, not simply photograph them. Obviously, dpi setting on the scanner must coincide with the app dpi setting. This should occur automatically of you have scanned properly. Because you have to know how to use your scanner and its related software, and if you are a novice like me, be prepared to invest a few hours fiddling around with it before you can reliably use the scans with the app. With that done, the app performs great. Rashid, the developer, takes customer support to a new level. Thanks Rashid

  • A stamp collector’s must have tool!

    As a stamp collector for over 55 years, one of my least favorite things to do is trying to figure out perforation sizes. And, as I’ve gotten older, my eyes just aren’t what they used to be. I grew up with the standard perforation gauges as well as the newer precision multi-gauge. None of those are as easy to use as the Stamp Analyser! It is fast and accurate and the developer is very quick to respond to inquiries and suggestions - thanks Rashid! I also like that it grades your stamp based on the PSE grading guide. So, for about the price of 10 US first class postage stamps, you can let your Mac be your perf slave. 😉

  • At last a good aid for stamp collectors

    With trepidation I purchased this app, due to buying other stamp apps without success, this appeared to work fine but gave me wrong perf readings.Oh no not again I thought. I contacted the designer and must say he returned my email very quickly indeed, we had several emails back and forth trying to figure out my problem. I use a Mac and we found using Preview to scan the stamp into at 300dpi was thr best for me, but after you scan never crop the stamp as this alters the dpi which I was doing. The long and short of it the app works very well for me now and would not hesitate to endorse it to other stamp collectors, but please read instructions.

    I can't say enough about this little app for stamp enthusiasts. Once you understand its functioning, it works like a hot damn. It is accurate and easy to use. I only hope they keep expanding its capacity and reporting abilities. Excellent product support is available in a very timely fashion. Well done.

    I just purchased the Stamp Analyser software from Rakium, Inc. I had inherited my Dad's stamp collection and realized after just a little research that being able to accurately measure the perforations of stamps would be critical to knowing which specific stamp I was looking at. I ordered a perforation gauge but grew frustrated right away with no confidence in my results. Researching the internet for software that could eliminate the frustration and add confidence in the measurement, I came across a few options. I chose the Stamp Analyser because of its superior ease of use with Apple products. Getting started as a newbie to philately and not too tech savvy, I had some questions about how I would be using the software. I wrote to the email address offered for support and heard back in short order . All my questions were answered thoroughly and I am a fan!!!! Would recommend to all collectors. And most users will will be up and running after just a brief reading of the details on the website. Excellent functionality with just a scanner and an Ipad or or your IPhone or use your Mac...

    I LOVE the Stamp Analyzer but would love it even more if I could print a report on the stamp I just analyzed. It accurately measures the borders of my stamps and gives me a useful report. When printing is added it will be even better.

    This is really a neat piece of software and it works like a charm! All you have to do is to move a scanned image of the stamp into the window and the program does the rest. It lines everything up and grades the stamp quickly. If you collect stamps you should buy this!

    Great tool. Like the frame last touch adjustment. Grade scale needs improvement. like to see centering number. Such as Gem 100, Superb 98, XF 85 etc. Scale seems off one level in grading.. Is there an iPad app comming soon? Looking forward to improvements at your earliest update.

    Wonderful piece of software! Easy to use and very quick with the "Drag & Drop" feature. I've used other 'grading' software for postage stamps and this is 'hands down' the best. Well worth the cost of the software. If you're into the philatelic hobby, and grading your stamps is important to you . . . BUY THIS! You'll be glad you did!
